This is a PADI Freediver course. Please contact us to enquire about securing a place on this course.
What’s included in the course:
- PADI Freediver Touch online learning materials
- Pool session (approx. 1/2 day)
- Open water sessions (completed in 1 day)
- Certification if successful in completing course requirements
- Use of float and rope for depth session
What’s not included in the course:
- Personal equipment
- Additional pool or open water sessions if required if course performance requirements are not met during standard sessions
Date: Please enquire about setting a date for the pool component of the course prior to the open water day.
Time: 9am-1pm (note that exact times may change closer to the course date)
Location: Langlands Park Memorial Pool, 5 Panitya St, Greenslopes QLD 4120, Australia – please meet us out the front of the pool and we will take you in through reception
What to bring*: Swim wear, wetsuit, mask, snorkel, fins, weight belt, weights (if you have them – let us know if you need to borrow weights), sun protection (this is an outdoor pool), water, snacks if required
*Please note that specialised freediving equipment is not required (e.g. snorkelling fins, SCUBA mask, or surfing wetsuit should all be fine). We also have for sale masks & snorkels and weight belts that are ideal for freediving should you wish to purchase any equipment. Get in touch with us if you have any questions about the suitability of your equipment or would like us to bring any sale equipment to the course.
Open water session
Time: Meet at 6:45am, return to land by lunch time.
Location: Meet at Manta Lodge & SCUBA Centre, Point Lookout, North Stradbroke Island.

water taxi departing Cleveland. Manta Lodge then provides a transfer from the ferry to the Lodge & SCUBA Centre. Return water taxi and transfers are $18 – please let us know at the time of booking if you would like us to arrange transfer for you.

Payment and cancellation policy
A non-refundable deposit of $100 per participant is required to reserve your place in the course and gain access to the PADI online learning materials. Full course payment is required at least 1 week prior to the course starting. You may change the date of your course up to 1 week before your scheduled course date at no additional cost. If you cancel your course more than 1 week prior to the scheduled start of the course, you will be refunded any payment less the non-refundable $100 deposit. If you cancel your course less than 1 week in advance you will not receive any refund.
Due to weather conditions or circumstances beyond the control of Encounter Freediving, we may on occasion have to reschedule the date/time of open water or pool sessions or change the location. If this occurs, we will reschedule an alternate date agreed to by yourself and Encounter Freediving. If you are travelling to the region and will not be able to complete the course at a later date, then we suggest you take out travel insurance to cover any lost refunds.
